Contact your email provider. If it's MSN let them know. Email companies are working hard at stopping Spoofing. This is what it is when someone uses your email address to send out spam.
They will understand and cancel the account.
Reply:Go to your settings in hotmail, change your password. After that if you still get spam in your mailbox, you can always report it as spam.

I need urgent email help,email hacked and cant change password.?
I am seriously considering taking Yahoo! to court over this, my yahoo! account was hacked and I can in no way retrieve the password, When I put in my date of birth it says it is invalid, When I use the alternate email and go to the password change, every password I use does not meet the format even when i try simply things like "abcdefg123" and passwords THAT DO MEET THE FORMAT REQUIRED. I need this account to sign onto my other accounts that I have spent money on, and because of yahoo's "excellent service" I can't get into my email account despite the fact I have proof that it is my account, Both knowing what groups it is subscribed to, it's alternate email, and it's password before the hacker changed it. Yet the service still thinks I cant POSSIBLY be able to be the true owner of the account because I can't match the birth date. is there a different way I can access my email? I wouldn't be having this problem if I could change the emails on my other accounts but GOLLY GEE WIZ, Those ones have been hacked to BECAUSE THERE ALL SIGNED UP TO THE SAME EMAIL.

If your password has been changed, most likely all your personal info will have been changed too. In that case asking for help by clicking the "forgot password" link won't do you any good. In case of a hacked account send a mail describing your problem to account-security-help @cc.yahoo-inc.com
Note: please delete the blank space between help and @ which I had to insert because Yahoo can't handle long addresses. If this doesn't help, call Yahoo: 1-408-349-1572, explain to a customer service person what happened. They will ask you to do certain things and then they compare your original info with the changed info. Within 24 hrs you should get your account back!

I sent a mail to a friend of mine yesterday and his parter foundout about it, she then somehow hacked into my system and forwared that mail to everyone in my mail box this morning. She then phoned and informed me, when I checked it was true. There is no how she could have know my pasword because I rarely use this email and had to try several times to get it right yesterday. How was she able to do it and what can I do to prevent it happening again. This person also tried to add me to thier yahoo chat on my other yahoo address and i declined.

1.You must have left your Yahoo account open on a Public or Work or Home PC. Then
someone wanted to delete or take your messages.
2. You left your Messenger logged in and the accessed that way. Then the messages were taken or deleted.
3. Someone has found out your Password and decided your messages were not worth
anything. Then deleted or took them.
4. Between Yahoo Mail Updating to New Mail and trying to save your files. Your
messages are on another server. Which will be returned when they can to your email address.

messages are on another server. Which will be returned when they can to your email address.
It appears that someone may have hacked into my email and deleted some. Is there any way of retrieving them?

files that are stored on a harddrive can be recalled if the cluster is not overwritten..
while in effect this same thing may apply to an email server.. but it may involved emailing your email service company..

No, you cannot get this information from a public email account like yahoo, or hotmail. If it is with your cable/ISP company, you might be able to convinse them, but most likely not.

No, it's not possible. Yahoo Mail and most of the e-mail providers only support 1 password per account.
If you want to be safe you just need tot remember the answer to your secret question and enter your date of birth when asked.

If after using this new password it changes back to the old one, it cannot simply do that by itself. Even if your friend's Ex knew the alternate account and could check it to find the temp password, she would have a very hard time changing it back to the old one. Since you say she repeated some conversations word for word that she could not possibly have known of - have you tried checking the system for spyware like keyloggers? That would explain a lot! Someone hacked into my forever yahoo email?
and changed my birthday, now I cant recover my old password....help...Someone, anyone?? I can answer all questions I set up for the account, its been since 12/10/07 since Ive been able to get into it..and my alternate email address got notification, I just cant do anything about it.

Contact the FBI and let them know of the phisher.
Ignore the rumors.

More than 3 million people became homeless on the morning of October 8, 2005. The disaster killed more than 70,000 people and wiped a generation of children from the land and whole cities from the map.
"I'm worried. How can I live this winter?" Mr. Akbar asks, while standing in front of the same mountains that last year shook with such violent force. Villagers young and old lined up on Friday to receive a free donation: corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheets donated by Save the Children. The donation is part of a larger effort to provide building materials for about 1,100 families to use for temporary shelters. For Akbar and others, the CGI sheets are a kind of salvation - a slice of hope in desperate times. "If I receive these CGI sheets, then it is possible," he says.
Oxfam reported last week that 1.8 million people remain in temporary shelters and tents - a staggering but disputed figure. The deprivation persists despite donors' distribution of some $2.6 billion in grants and in-kind gifts.
Many Pakistanis had hoped for faster and more effective relief. Government officials, including President Pervez Musharraf, have rejected Oxfam's claims, but other anecdotal evidence gleaned throughout the area seem to bolster it. Field workers with international and local agencies describe continuing difficulties one year on.
"Ninety percent of people are still living in tents," in Neelum Valley, says Saima Ghazal, a surveyor with the International Organization on Migration (IOM) in Muzaffarabad.
But not everyone shares Akbar's concern, or his plight. Just up the road, Saifur Rahman, a schoolteacher, has already built a smart and solid home of cement, mud, and stone, with enough room for his family of 12. Thoughts of winter bother him little, and he is already planning to expand.
But Mr. Rahman's comforts represent an extreme, underscoring that home reconstruction has been otherwise rare in this landscape of ruin and doubt.
"There is a risk that we foresee this winter," says Shakeel Qadir Khan, the district commission officer of Mansehra. On Friday, the US Ambassador, who flew into Allai Valley to reiterate the US commitment to rebuilding, echoed that risk, highlighting the work still to be done.
The estimated reconstruction costs have forced a national debate over how much hope a year can bring. Intermingled with mourning, many survivors are questioning the pace of reconstruction; others bristle that so many months later, squalid conditions are still all they know.
Government officials now expect rebuilding to take 10 years and cost $4.3 billion. But some aid agencies and local officials caution against assigning blame. The scale of the tragedy - 12,000 square miles spread over remote corners of the country - coupled with inclement weather has created a challenge that even the world working together could not overcome in a year, they say.
Harsh rains and landslides during the monsoon season, which lasted nearly four months, wreaked havoc on progress, washing away homes and lives that were once on the path to recovery.
Perhaps the biggest obstacle was simply one of identification: for months, survey teams worked to determine which families required what form of compensation. Reconstruction could not begin until this process was complete. Many have criticized it as slow and corrupt, but officials say that, given the Herculean task at hand, the system has worked well. About 90 percent of survivors have been compensated, according to the government, in a cash flood amounting to about $1 billion.
"So far as the compensation is concerned, its execution on our part has been excellent. You cannot compensate millions in a day," says Masood-ur- Rehman, the assistant commissioner of Kashmir. Major deaths by disease and cold were averted, and thousands, having received their checks, are now ready to begin rebuilding.
Many international agencies have a mandate to remain for years to come. On Friday, Ryan C. Crocker, the US ambassador to Pakistan, told a crowd assembled high in the valleys of Rashang that US commitment to rebuilding has only just begun.
"We spent $200 million in the relief operations. We'll spend another $200 million in reconstruction," he said, flanked by US military Chinook helicopters, which this week began ferrying 20,000 CGI sheets to highly affected areas.
Moments before he spoke, residents could be seen walking up the mountainside with CGI sheets balanced on their heads. Surefooted, they headed in the direction of treacherous peaks, where new roofs glistened in the afternoon sun.

My yahoo email has been hacked, both accounts actually, I created another account today. My question is, since I'm pretty sure I know who did this, how can I prove it? Once I've changed my password, whats to stop them from hacking into it again? My password wasn't even a real word, completlely off-the-wall and yet they managed to get in and send harrassing emails to a certain person. Any of you computer geeks out there know how to trace who hacked, or how to keep them from doing it next time? Thanks.

she should changer her password and SECURITY question to something he would have a clue about. you have to have solid evidence that he is doing that. and someone hacking into your account is kind of a hard thing to prove. or she should cancel her account andreopen it with new (different) information~ like someone elses birthday or something.
Reply:Contact the ISP. They have regulations and whatnot. It is a crime. But you'd have to prove it. The ISP has records of IP addresses which can prove where a connection was made.

I have just tried to log into my yahoo account which i have had for years and it keeps saying invalid password. i can't remember the personal info i gave to get a new password. I have had to create a new yahoo ID but I can't access important emails in my old account.
Any bright ideas how I could regain control of my account?

I've had the same thing happen to me and you have done the best thing by opening a new account. As far as recovering old emails I would give up, even if you ask yahoo to do something about it they cant (or wont) either way they are a waste of time. Why would anyone WANT to hack into your email? The error is most often due to the user. You probably just forgot it or had the caps on or something. No one just hacks into an email account.

i got my account from a friend... and it got hacked i don't know the email (that currently does not exist) or the sacred question... on the account password is changed so i can't log in and change it. Reply:Hacking into someone's email is illegal and person who did so should be punished, I know of nobody who is fine with it. With that said, Palin shouldn't have been using Yahoo for official business in the first place, like many things she has done, it may even have been illegal to do so. So no, hacking emails is not alright, and I say that as someone who knows a thing or two about hacking. But neither is avoiding have a record of your activity because you use an unoffical email for official business.

Security questions for the password included area code, name of a relative (forgot which one), etc etc. It was simple answers that were easy to find with just a bit of research. Frankly, i could have done it if i wanted to. I mean she has a basic yahoo e-mail account. Most hackers to get through that without security questions. Oh and isnt it even more ironic that republicans say democrats are 'communists and socialists' yet its the republicans that are slapping tons of regulations on businesses and using billions and billions of tax payers money to take them over to stop the economic melt-down that they created.

How can I protect my Email account from hacking?
It's a bit of a drag but you need to change your password at least every month. A good way to do it is to make your password 10 digits long and consisting of four numbers, three letters, and the abbreviation for the current month. Example: 6204kmmOCT. Then on November 1st you change it to 6204kmmNOV. Or, if you want to be even more protected you can change it daily by making the last three characters the day of the week, as in; 6204kmmFRI.
