If your password has been changed, most likely all your personal info will have been changed too. In that case asking for help by clicking the "forgot password" link won't do you any good. In case of a hacked account send a mail describing your problem to account-security-help@cc.yahoo-inc.com. If this doesn't help, call Yahoo: 1-408-349-1572, explain to a customer service person what happened. They will ask you to do certain things and then they compare your original info with the changed info. Within 24 hrs you should get your account back!

How did he get your pictures? He couldn't have gotten it just from knowing your e-mail address, unless he stole the pictures from e-mails that you keep.
It would have been better to press charges of slander, hacking, or theft when he still had that page on MySpace. It also would have been good to record his confession.
Pressing charges %26amp; going to court is not something to be taken lightly. Change your e-mail account and password-protect your computer first, then think about whether or not you wish to proceed further.

I suggest calling this number, and saying that hotmail has not been helpful, and the person on this account is being an imposter of you. Ist that against the law?? I think so.

That they knew it was false
That it caused harm to your reputation
That it was done in a public forum
You can prove all three, and slander is a serious offense, find a lawyer friend to help you out a well worded threatening letter should do it. You can sue for significant damage.
Odds are it's someone you know, noone else would care about your family, it's someone who considers you an enemy.
Notify your cousins or family that they are contacting of what is happening they should be able to help you, you can get information on this guy - what you need is someone in your family that they are chatting with to direct them to a web site where you can get access to track users, preferably one with a low volume so you can recognize the IP address in the traffic, a letter referenceing their IP address and indicating that you are contacting law enforcement regarding this IP address will help.
If they are checking your email, you could also sign them up for every offer on the internet, every pharmacy, every stock trader, every get rich quick site and every mortgage site, they'll get so much spam they won't be able to deal with it.

Reply:A few things, a person is not allowed to slander you, to prove slander, you have to prove a few things:
That they knew it was false
That it caused harm to your reputation
That it was done in a public forum
You can prove all three, and slander is a serious offense, find a lawyer friend to help you out a well worded threatening letter should do it. You can sue for significant damage.
Odds are it's someone you know, noone else would care about your family, it's someone who considers you an enemy.
Notify your cousins or family that they are contacting of what is happening they should be able to help you, you can get information on this guy - what you need is someone in your family that they are chatting with to direct them to a web site where you can get access to track users, preferably one with a low volume so you can recognize the IP address in the traffic, a letter referenceing their IP address and indicating that you are contacting law enforcement regarding this IP address will help.
If they are checking your email, you could also sign them up for every offer on the internet, every pharmacy, every stock trader, every get rich quick site and every mortgage site, they'll get so much spam they won't be able to deal with it.

What do you mean you can't receive email? Can you log into your Yahoo account? If so, are you saying that if someone sends you email, it just never arrives?
Reply:It's possible that someone just sent you "tracking cookies" that prevent your e-mail accounts from recognizing your password, so you cant enter. This is not dangerous, just really annoying. It's not impossible, but very unlikely someone actually hacked you and has access to your personal information. Probably they dont even know your passwords, they can just block them. So, if you use a virus and cookie scan and delete the tracking cookies it will detect you should be fine. You can google for free scans to download and use more just to make sure. And you should make sure to go into your internet options and delete your temporary files and cookies, it can do no harm, just an additional security measure.

What do you mean you can't receive email? Can you log into your Yahoo account? If so, are you saying that if someone sends you email, it just never arrives?
Reply:It's possible that someone just sent you "tracking cookies" that prevent your e-mail accounts from recognizing your password, so you cant enter. This is not dangerous, just really annoying. It's not impossible, but very unlikely someone actually hacked you and has access to your personal information. Probably they dont even know your passwords, they can just block them. So, if you use a virus and cookie scan and delete the tracking cookies it will detect you should be fine. You can google for free scans to download and use more just to make sure. And you should make sure to go into your internet options and delete your temporary files and cookies, it can do no harm, just an additional security measure.

I have a personal email account and out of the blue, I can't get in. This was created 10 years ago, when computers were pretty rare. I didn't have an alternate email address for verification purposes, I don't remember my challenge questions, I have had the same user id and password for 10 years. What now? I'm ticked off.

Oh by the way, my computer also had a virus which was a Trojan worm that was caused by an email that I opened that appeared to be from an Ebay person responding to one of my auctions. Your computer may have to be worked on if you had the same happen to you...this worm/virus allowed the hacker to get into my system which is hooked to the internet via high speed 24/7. Also, I had my passwords for Yahoo and Ebay stored on the computer and that is why the hacker was able to obtain them. I was advised to go in and change all of my passwords and also place the internet connection on Standby (or disconnect) when on online.

Found out today that she figured my pass or secret answer and got on my YAHOO account. She started sending letters to different girls that I talk to -- 1 I just met and was interested in seeing. She told them God knows what and probably lied to them about different things and our past to make me look like a jerk. The girl I was interested in sent me a text telling me that my ex had called her and tried to do some crazy thing where she made up a guy.... I don't know exactly what she did, I guess... but she asked me not to call/ contact because I obviously "...have too much going on I need to take care of."
I changed my pass and started a new account and will do all the obvious things. What should I do about her ? Ignore it and continue not talking to her? Punish her (hehe)? I mean WTF man... this is crazy person stuff. I thought she was better than this.

Some group on facebook hacked my facebook and email and i have tried everthing to get it back but i can't. I don't want to lose any information on any of them either. Any help would be good. Thanks.

Some group on facebook hacked my facebook and email and i have tried everthing to get it back but i can't. I don't want to lose any information on any of them either. Any help would be good. Thanks.

I have been getting hundreds of failed message delivery emails from my yahoo. But none of the emails in qwuestion are any of mine and are not recognized. This has just started today and so far I have over 100 and they are still coming in. Anyone have any ideas? How can I stop this? How do I know if it has been hacked or why this is happening?

I have no clue what to do, and I'm hoping SOMEONE can help me! I had a Y@hoo account that was taken over by some mean girls that I went to school with. Anyways, i guess i wasn't secure enough about the password. They started doing dumb stuff like sending e-mails to girls that dont like me to start trouble, sending e-mails to guys saying I have an STD, and was just really really harming me. They changed the birth info, and the password, there's no way i can get in. I'm totally lost and don't know what to do. okay, I don't use yahoo email, but have you tried using the password recovery option? Normally, when you register an email account they give you questions for you to answer for password recovery.
if you can't do that, just say that your email was hacked. It's really that simple.. the whole idea of "admitting" to having STDs is just fishy. If they don't believe you, then I guess they weren't your friends so it shouldn't matter. :p Rumors only last for a while or until the next one.
Make a different email - yahoo, hotmail, gmail, whatever. Just don't ever use a guessable password again.. mixing numbers in helps a lot too.

How can I find out who hacked my email?
Both my AOL and Gmail accounts have been broken into by someone changing the passwords Sarah Palin-style (answering my security question correctly, then getting access to the Gmail acct by sending a "forgot password" link to the AOL account). I currently cannot sign into either of them as the person changed the password. This happened a year ago with a yahoo account and a different aol account. I think I know who did it then but I don't know if it's the same person now. I abandoned the old aol account and made this new one that now got compromised.
I think I know who did it, will aol and Google tell me the IP address that accessed the accounts?
Should I try and steal them back or just abandon it?
Also, what legal action can I take?

First of all, ask the contacts you had on your account if they received any e-mail from you and if they still have them. If they say they have received and have them saved, tell them to look at the source code of the message and tell you the ip of the person. With the IP it's much easier to discover who is it.
If they have received any e-mail, but do not have them, send a mail to your account. A challenging message is cooler since hackers and lammers like to be challenged, so they'll probably answer you. When they do, look at the source code.
As i told you, that technique is for n00b test, and if the guy is really careful, he will be behind what is called a proxy, so it won't work.
My best alternative for you is to contact AOL and Gmail and explain them the situation. They won't tell you who was it, but they might help you to recover your account.

The best thing to do is notify your email provider, and change your password IMMEDIATELY. Do the same for MySpace, Messenger, and other sites you have to login to.
Also, set your browser to NOT save passwords, delete cookies, cache, etc.
I had mine hacked and had to change ALL passwords. Use a good antivirus (I use Avast - free), use a good antispyware program (I use AVG AntiSpyware $40, and get a good firewall. Windows Firewall sucks. I use Comodo Personal Firewall (free, and it has a wonderful support forum)

It's likely someone got hold of your password through hacking, using a computer u had used to log in before or just through trying possibilities, same thing hapenned to me when someone logged into my messenger and started chatting as me.
Just change your password ASAP and before that person does it which would be more damaging.

I clicked on forgot password but it asks for DOB and zip code, I made this account a long time ago and put random information for those fields that I don't remember..or it is possible that they could have changed it. Well using free email services to store sensitive information is possibly the dumbest thing people can do nowadays, especially with the amateur "cookie masking" php injection trick around now. Where they simply talk to you on Aim, or a chat room of some sort and steal your cookie info from the stored browser info. Then they plug in their ip address where yours was, and change the yahoo cookie info, in plain terms, from "logged in? False to logged in? True" and then goto their log in on yahoo, and insert the cookie which changes their cookie to yours, and then they click on the inbox button and voila, they are now in your account without even entering your password.
So what can you do? Theres not alot of it, and its never a good idea to enter random info into the password recovery info. What you should do in a situation like this, is remember all the sites that use that email. Then what you want to do is request an email change if you cannot do it by yourself. The faster you do it the less of a chance the person who now has control over your account can trash your online stuff.
Now others might yell for "ip trace" or "bring it to the cops", but they cant do anything about it. People emails are hacked daily, and its completely untraceable because of that nice American proxy server law, where they cant trace incoming, only out going.
Here are your logical options, listed from best to worst:
-Do what is said above, about the sites and email changes
-Fall to the ground and pray to God that you didnt have any personal information stored on your account that your attacker could use to hurt you, or steal your identity with.
-Email your other account, try to get some info on the new dude. If (s)hes smart, he would read your outgoing emails and learn how you talk, thus when incoming mail comes in they could write back sounding like you so no one gets suspicious.
-Write yahoo, and explain whats going on, see if they cant at least give the IP (if its not proxied) to the police for an investigation. (And before you do that, pray to God that a understanding, and nice human being picks up your call)
-Go on a "hackers for hire" site and try and buy a hacker to do a simple email hack job, and hope you dont get screwed out of like 80 bucks. I would demand screen shots before anything happens, and not believe the screen shots, have them taken to a pro photoshopper, or detective (Private Eye) to see if they can see any blemishes that show photoshopped (You can only photoshop so much)
-Frollic (This would make everything better, let the attacker steal all your information, and you not do anything sensible about it. HOW FUN!!! YAY!!!) xP

4. Start over with a new username and a more secure password that uses random letters and numbers that is at least 8 characters long. Store the password in a safe place that is NOT online.

if your account has been stolen, there is not much chance you will get your ID back as all original info will be changed and although yahoo says it recognises original info, THEY DO NOT, as once the thief changes the ZIP and primary email the recovery process anywhere though yahoo is useless. Yahoo will not listen to you without that original personal info matching.
Make sure you have a good password something with letters and numbers in it the Yahoo generated passwords are the hardest to crack.

Somebody hacked into my other yahoo email account and changed the password?
Well using free email services to store sensitive information is possibly the dumbest thing people can do nowadays, especially with the amateur "cookie masking" php injection trick around now. Where they simply talk to you on Aim, or a chat room of some sort and steal your cookie info from the stored browser info. Then they plug in their ip address where yours was, and change the yahoo cookie info, in plain terms, from "logged in? False to logged in? True" and then goto their log in on yahoo, and insert the cookie which changes their cookie to yours, and then they click on the inbox button and voila, they are now in your account without even entering your password.
So what can you do? Theres not alot of it, and its never a good idea to enter random info into the password recovery info. What you should do in a situation like this, is remember all the sites that use that email. Then what you want to do is request an email change if you cannot do it by yourself. The faster you do it the less of a chance the person who now has control over your account can trash your online stuff.
Now others might yell for "ip trace" or "bring it to the cops", but they cant do anything about it. People emails are hacked daily, and its completely untraceable because of that nice American proxy server law, where they cant trace incoming, only out going.
Here are your logical options, listed from best to worst:
-Do what is said above, about the sites and email changes
-Fall to the ground and pray to God that you didnt have any personal information stored on your account that your attacker could use to hurt you, or steal your identity with.
-Email your other account, try to get some info on the new dude. If (s)hes smart, he would read your outgoing emails and learn how you talk, thus when incoming mail comes in they could write back sounding like you so no one gets suspicious.
-Write yahoo, and explain whats going on, see if they cant at least give the IP (if its not proxied) to the police for an investigation. (And before you do that, pray to God that a understanding, and nice human being picks up your call)
-Go on a "hackers for hire" site and try and buy a hacker to do a simple email hack job, and hope you dont get screwed out of like 80 bucks. I would demand screen shots before anything happens, and not believe the screen shots, have them taken to a pro photoshopper, or detective (Private Eye) to see if they can see any blemishes that show photoshopped (You can only photoshop so much)
-Frollic (This would make everything better, let the attacker steal all your information, and you not do anything sensible about it. HOW FUN!!! YAY!!!) xP

4. Start over with a new username and a more secure password that uses random letters and numbers that is at least 8 characters long. Store the password in a safe place that is NOT online.

I told that person to stop it, but they never gave me my password back.

a book from Amazon, and the book never came.
I am so scared because now whoever it is might know my address

delete it manually. then run ccleaner to cleand your pc, and mvregclean, to clean registry.
what mvregclean find you remove because the key is there but not the file ,folder or program.
even you reformat and it finds anything remove dont be afraid.
