If someone hacked into your email account can they find out where you live??

what if you have mcaffee or some type of prtection like that?

If someone hacked into your email account can they find out where you live??
Most likely not, but of course if your email account was hacked, they could easily edit your profile. Under profile settings, if you gave your full address when setting up your account, they would of course see it.

The best thing to do is notify your email provider, and change your password IMMEDIATELY. Do the same for MySpace, Messenger, and other sites you have to login to.

Also, set your browser to NOT save passwords, delete cookies, cache, etc.

I had mine hacked and had to change ALL passwords. Use a good antivirus (I use Avast - free), use a good antispyware program (I use AVG AntiSpyware $40, and get a good firewall. Windows Firewall sucks. I use Comodo Personal Firewall (free, and it has a wonderful support forum)
Reply:By "hack into your email account", you mean they got your password? If they get your password, they can get all the private information you put up in your account. That's about it. Unless you put your real address somewhere in your email message, they can't find out where you live just by having access your email.

They can use white pages to do reverse lookup if they get your phone number. They have to pay money for those service sometimes.

McAffee prevents virus, but not against identity theft.
Reply:depends if you are using your real address or fake address. most likely these website email account don't really show the address without a pw(password) or some sort of security.
Reply:Not unless you give your address out in emails or its contained in your account profile.
Reply:Well, if you have emails sent or received that say your address, or directions to your house, that they could look at, or if it is some kind of email with a personal info option, then yes...but if you have neither then I guess not. I guess they could email your contacts to ask how to get to your house, but that would be a stupid email...
Reply:yes they can it's in your email stuff
Reply:No. They look in the phone book instead or the electoral roll.
Reply:No, they can't. Unless you have emails regarding your address. Also, if you pay for your email account then it also may be possible for them to find out. But if your just using a free one, they can't.
Reply:It depends... if you have emails from personal friends, work etc, they can use that to out together who you are and look for clues. IE: If your real name is listed. Also your IP can be found if you use full headers and from that allot of info can be obtained. State, provider etc. In your account information, if you have your legit info listed, City, postal code, they can relatively easy, or at least the block you're on.

A anti virus won't protect you from that .
Reply:why not they could just tace ur adress on all the stuff u buy off the internet
