my friend just told me she found out her coworkers email password and read his mail. is this illegal? he told one of her friends, who told her.

I guess if he is stupid enough to give it out its not!

Reply:If her boss finds out they will get fired because that is the first thing they tell you is to keep your password to yourself.
They will be looking for a new job.
Reply:Um... illegal? I would probably say no - would it be illegal if his friend had given her the key to the other guy's house and she let herself in? I'm not a law expert so I'm not sure at all but I don't think it's illegal, it's certainly not hacking, unless she did some social engineering to get the password from the second guy.
