How would you get a court order to obtain IP address info on the person who hacked email?

I appreciate the answers to my first question but now how would I be able to get an order or subpeona to get the IP address of the person who got into my email account? Would it be considered criminal if the person read the mail and possibly deleted some mail and requested password to my photo sharing account so that they could look at and possibly download my pictures? Someone also told me that even with an IP address and the cops involved it would still be difficult to prove that that specific person was the one who broke into my account and therefore most cops wont get involved unless they attempt to use my credit card or bank info...is that true? Please any advice!

They won't do anything. Thousands of email accounts get hacked per day. If you have your credit card information in your email then you are asking for it anyway.
Reply:You would need to get a lawyer, to get a court order to subpeona the host of the mail server. If you are fortunate, the host *might* have time records. But I doubt it can prove anything. The hacker could have used a proxy..
